Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Venture Capital Principal to join our team in The Netherlands. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our investment strategy, managing the entire investment process from sourcing to exit, and supporting portfolio companies in achieving their growth objectives. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful ventures and work closely with founders to drive significant positive change through technology.

Job functions

• Sourcing: Supported by analysts and interns, identify and evaluate promising ventures that align with our mission of creating impact through technology with strong financial returns. Build and maintain relationships with key ecosystem players, including entrepreneurs, co-investors, and advisors.
• Due diligence: Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, including market analysis, financial modeling, and evaluation of potential impact.
• Investment execution: Run venture investments from start to finish, including negotiating terms and conditions and managing the stakeholders during the execution of investments, incl. founders, co-investors, legal and other advisors.
• Portfolio: Work closely with portfolio companies, providing strategic advice, operational support, and access to our network to accelerate their growth.
• Thought leadership: Represent 4impact at industry events and contribute to thought leadership in the impact investing space. Engage with the broader community to promote the role of venture capital in achieving impact and financial return objectives.
• Team collaboration: Collaborate with the investment team to refine investment strategies, share insights, and develop best practices. Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
• Business development: Work closely with the Partners and industry executives to explore and create new business initiatives.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of work experience with at least 5 years in venture capital, private equity, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful investments and exits.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to conduct thorough due diligence, financial modeling, and impact assessment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and other stakeholders.
• Passion for using technology to address global sustainability challenges.
• Strong understanding of the tech startup ecosystem and impact landscape preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or Law, or a related field. An MSc, MBA or other advanced degree is highly preferred.

• Easy ability to work in The Netherlands.
